Responsibilities

The Account Executive –TV & Theatre Lighting position is responsible for identifying and developing sales opportunities for event and entertainment projects in multiple live entertainment markets. The work involves developing mutually beneficial long-term multidisciplinary collaborations with existing and newly identified clients, while also focusing on cultivating profitable business. 

 

We’re looking for a motivated candidate with Theatrical and/or TV lighting experience and practical production knowledge.

 

Essential functions 

  • Develop mutually beneficial long-term collaborations with existing and newly identified clients.  
  • Demonstrates innovative production solutions and provides resources in the best application of products or services to achieve client’s vision.  
  • Coordinates company technical and service resources to accommodate client needs.  
  • Participates in the RFP/order process from inception to close.  
  • Plans and estimates event costs and margins according to Company guidelines and in consultation with Company management. 
  • May specialize in a specific product, market or discipline.  
  • Leads and participates in client presentations.  
  • Prepare and define scope of work with client; to include budget, project schedule, workflow, internal resource requirements, concept designs and layouts.    
  • Consult with and troubleshoot client’s unresolved aesthetic design and technology issues.  
  • Provide a reasonable balance between the client’s creative needs and the company’s profitability.  
  • Generate and amend quotes and interfaces with financial operations to facilitate client billing.  
  • Interface with operation department to ensure all design and quality goals are met.  
  • Investigates all safety and reliability concerns.  
  • Identify and explore all future revenue possibilities with client.  
  • Communicate as assigned relative to project status and performance.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Strong understanding of the function and capabilities of equipment in this market.
  • Strong organizational skills; Customer Service orientation; Tact; Professionalism. 
  • Knowledge of current trends and advancements in event and entertainment technology and the direction of equipment development.   
  • Thorough knowledge of the technical principles of operation and maintenance of the equipment in inventory.   
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite is recommended to succeed in this position.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and ability to learn company asset management system
  • Creative mindset and problem-solving aptitude
  • Stellar communication skills, including presentation skills and written and verbal communication
  • The ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously within strict deadlines.
  • Experience with technical drawings (i.e. ground plans, sections and lighting plots) a plus.
  • Good knowledge of the principles and practices of modern office procedures and workplace safety.

Physical demands 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. 
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  
  • The position requires the ability to see clearly (with or without the aid of glasses or contact lenses) during responsibilities on and off a computer. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms. 
  • Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.  

Travel required 

  • Some travel to job site or client meetings expected.
  • Estimated travel 10-25%, mostly local. 
  • Must have valid Driver’s License; valid Passport a plus.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or equivalent education or experience.
  • Technical education and/or training in own product discipline(s) is a plus
  • 5+ years experience working in the entertainment industry
  • 2+ years of sales experience
  • Project Management experience is a plus
  • Experience of preparing and interpreting financial reports, advanced understanding of financial concepts
  • OSHA 30 card preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and asset management system

The pay range for this position is estimated to be $75,000.00-100,000.00. Actual pay to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant combined with location and alignment with market data. Additionally, we offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with matching contributions.
