Responsibilities

Summary/objective

 

The Shipping & Receiving Clerkwill perform all necessary functions as directed by the Logistic Coordinator or regional/national logistics team members - related to the daily logistics and shipment involving generic carriers.  

 

Supervisory responsibilities 

 

Occasionally supervise freelance or over-hire labor that may be assigned to assist in unloading or loading of shipments. 

 

Essential functions

 

  • Responsible for quoting and confirming all shipment in the TMS and AMS systems  
  • Coordinate shipments with logistic team – local, regional, and national 
  • Coordinate with local dispatch and other departments on any shipping needs both inbound and outbound. 
  • Assist in proper load requirements in various Transpiration and Accounting systems such as coding freight in purchase orders and other systems 
  • Reconciling freight charges and other clerical task related to shipments  
  • Alerts and escalates any freight damage or freight claims associated with any inbound or outbound shipments.
  • Responsible for pulling orders to be shipped and preparing shipping documents.
  • Responsible for ensuring that daily shipments are picked up or delivered to shippers.
  • Responsible for receiving materials upon arrival and putting away the received materials in an assigned storage location and recording receipt in the inventory system.
  • Operate a Forklift Truck to unload and load trucks.
  • Assist in weekly/monthly inventory and consolidate materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Maintain data in computerized systems and use other technologies as required.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and assist in the upkeep of the warehouse.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Strong ability to Prioritize and multi-task 
  • Ability to think logistically, have analytic skills and ability to problem solve  
  • Understand demand, order requirements and how the relate to logistics 
  • Ability to arrange, understand freight service levels, transit times, and methods of shipping for a variety of needs. 
  • Experience and understanding of Dedicated Entertainment/Event shipping 
  • Ability to interact with rental agents, project managers, order coordinators, and other key internal personal 
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, clear verbal and written communication. 
  • Must have customer service skills and ability to communicate with vendors, customers, and on-site personnel  
  • Must have demonstrated time management skills and be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced multi-task environment with minimal supervision. 
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.   
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a stressful environment with ability to adapt positively to changes in the work setting with ease 
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and execute other job functions with high attention to detail

 

 

Physical demands

 

  • Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds and stand for long hours
  • Ability to spend 60% of work time standing or moving. 
  • Employee will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Will also be required to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and operate office machinery.
  • Must have the ability to switch from sitting at a computer workstation for periods of time to physically checking equipment and supplies in the warehouse 

 

Other duties 

 

  • Assist with warehouse and order-related tasks under the direction of the shop manager or operations manager 
  • Assist National or Regional logistics teams with task and special projects as needed

 

Required education and experience 

 

  • High School degree or equivalent (preferred)
  • Fluency in English  
  • 1-3 years shipping and receiving experience (Preferred)
