Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Lighting Service & Repair Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of lighting assets, including automated lighting fixtures and special effects (SFX) equipment. This role ensures that all repairs meet manufacturer and company standards while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

 

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automated lighting and SFX fixtures from leading manufacturers, including VARILITE, MARTIN, GLP, ROBE, AYRTON, ACME, ELATION, and CLAYPAKY.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify electronic and mechanical issues.
  • Test and verify sub-assemblies and major system components.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance following company procedures and guidelines.
  • Recalibrate and verify factory specifications for all relevant equipment.
  • Monitor and manage part stock levels in coordination with the Service & Repair Manager.
  • Maintain and update factory acceptance testing and quality control (QC) documentation.
  • Ensure accurate parts lists are maintained for all related equipment.
  • Adhere to maintenance policies and procedures, ensuring that all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Meet all QC deadlines for repaired equipment.
  • Cross-train in different departments as needed.
  • Promote and uphold workplace safety by following protocols, using proper PPE, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment using the GMA2 OnPC console.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills.
  • Working knowledge of lighting and SFX equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including bending, lifting heavy equipment, and working in confined spaces.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Diagnose problems and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Order necessary parts for repairs.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain records of all services performed.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Solid understanding of automated lighting and SFX equipment functionality.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with automated lighting and SFX equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

The pay range for this position is estimated to be $23.00-$28.00 per hour. Actual rate to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant combined with location and alignment with market data.
