Responsibilities

PRG Scenic Technologies seeks individuals with Carpentry and/or Welding skills. On the job training is available for candidates with entry level experience. Position will offer the opportunity to join the IATSE union after a 90-day probationary period. 

Qualifications

  • Self-Motivated.
  • Team Oriented.
  • Strong Organizational Skills.
  • Understanding of basic shop safety terminology.

Skills and Abilities

  •  Ability to operate shop power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Foundational Math skills.
  • Fabrication experience with various types of materials including wood, plastic, steel, aluminum, and paints, a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, develop cut sheets, layout and fabricate, a plus.
  • Understanding of basic Theatre terminology, a plus.
  • Ability to operate Mig or Tig welding experience, a plus.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards as directed by Shop Team Leaders and Technicians

Physical demands

  • Ability to operate shop power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.

  • Mig or Tig welding experience, a plus.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards as directed by Shop Team Leaders and Technicians.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Availability to work overtime during peak seasons
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving. Physical activities include frequent use of hand tools, bending, stooping, lifting, climbing stairs, carrying, walking and/or reaching regularly
  • Ability to work with warehouse and material handling equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts and other such equipment.Certifications are a plus.
  • Fluency in English
