Responsibilities

 

Summary/objective  

The VFX Coordinator will be responsible for the overall supervision of the VFX job requirements.  The Coordinator will work closely with the client to communicate all gear and crew needs.  The Coordinator will be responsible for quoting the client all job needs.  The coordinator will schedule all phases of the job requirements including Labor needs.  This position will also require full product management, to make necessary repair requests and capex purchases for the department.  The Coordinator will also be responsible for invoicing the jobs and keeping track of Labor OT.   

  

Essential functions 

  • Manage all camera tracking systems and animation engines in inventory and personnel. 
  • Delegating Day to day operations in department 
  • Scheduling and approving over time  
  • Working together with other PRG managers to approve which trained operator or tech will be on set when multiple productions occur at one time. 
  • Reaching out to potential new clients. 
  • Manage our client base while aggressively pursuing new clientele 
  • Schedule and conduct all demos/open house of each type of tracking system and animation engine available with Virtual Production Lead. 
  • Devise new promotional material and marketing videos with PRG marketing team to reach possible clients through social media networks to help educate on the benefits of using these types of systems on their future/current projects. 
  • Training PRG sales team on what our camera tracking systems are, how they work, what we do while on set and how it can help their clients. 
  • Prepare all rental quotes for camera tracking systems and animation engines 
  • Discuss with customers what their project would specifically need to ensure all complicated camera movements and specialty cameras/lens will integrate seamlessly with the tracking system to give them the most optimal performance. 
  • Work with PRG operations to devise a weekly/daily rate for gear and personnel. 
  • Manage the rental from first discussion to final billing for the systems and personnel combined. 
  • Keeping track of all O.T. incurred during production while our in-house crew is on set to ensure proper billing. 
  • Manage all requests from VFX Supervisor and Virtual Production Lead for additional gear or replacement of damaged gear to update rental quote to reflect new items and/or replacement of gear. 
  • Quick turn around on vendor repairs and quotes to promptly bill client for damages during production period. 
  • Maintaining the relationships with past clients and all vendors. 
  • Main client face for PRG camera tracking solutions 
  • Work closely with clients that have a specific AR/VR project to propose a proof of concept and utilizing our vendor relationships to make the clients vision a reality. 
  • Manage all R&D for specific cables or support gear to match client needs. 
  • Manage any new equipment purchases by presenting how the new items will enhance customer satisfaction and how the expense will impact rentals supply and demand to justify the purchase. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Familiar with camera and lens products 
  • Familiar with virtual production (unreal engine, motion builder) 
  • On set experience 
  • Proficient Understanding of 120V / 208V Electricity 
  • Working with high level directors and producers and execs 
  • Proficient in Inbound/Cable/Conventional/Grip/Video/Sound/Rigging 
  • Proficient knowledge of the technical principles of operation and maintenance of the electronic equipment to which the incumbent is assigned 
  • Proficient knowledge of the principles and practices of workplace Safety 
  • Proficient or working knowledge of common computer productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office; the ability to learn and utilize PRG proprietary software 
  • Proficient knowledge of safe motor vehicle operation and current licensing appropriate to the vehicle(s) operated (clean driving record or need not apply); Customer Service Orientation; Tact; Professionalism
