Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for meeting disbursement requirements against company policy and procedures and management objectives. This position will insure that PRG meets its payment obligations to vendors in a timely and accurate manner and will insure that company funds are disbursed only after they have been authorized and approved. This position plans, organizes, and manages the operations and activities of a centralized accounts payable department, making sure that it operates in a professional manner. 

  • Lead Project Manager in forming a Centralized AP department from the current decentralized model
  • Oversee all Accounts Payable related activities including vendor setups, timely and accurate processing of invoices and disbursements, vendor reconciliations, and analysis
  • Assist with identifying and resolving payment discrepancies
  • Ability to understand accounting/general ledger entries and provide assistance with AP coding
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of the accounts payable subledger to general ledger.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate A/P staff to enhance performance and work productivity
  • Create and implement changes to work assignments, methods, or procedures to meet operational needs and improve accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable team.
  • Respond to audit, vendor and internal inquires/requests in a timely manner
  • Develop new policies and procedures
  • Prepare 1099 Reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in accounts payable, specifically with experience working in a large company with a centralized accounts payable department
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead supervisory role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Oracle experience preferred.
