Responsibilities

The Labor Assistant has responsibility for supporting the Labor Manager in sourcing and booking events staff, collecting and processing timesheets and rates; and supporting the billing of events and shows.

  • Support the processing and verification of Regular Events Staff and Showpay payroll timesheets. Examine records of amounts due and make sure timesheets are paid according to terms including accurate calculation and payment of overtime according to terms including accurate calculation and payment of overtime according to state and federal laws. Ensure that events and jobs are coded correctly.
  • Submit payroll to Finance. Supply regular or written reports as required.
  • Assist with recruitment selection, interview, reference-checking and hiring of Stagehands for Showpay, LLC. Including new hire orientation and coordinating assignments and booking of crew as required by sales staff.
  • Update and disseminate the LA Event Staff Master Booking Schedule daily.
  • Book travel, hotel and car rental for staff or visiting staff, prepare travel and immigration documents for crew.
  • Keep a database of crew based on qualification and pay.
  • Maintain Showpay employee files. Ensure completion of all new hire paperwork for temporary employees. Assist with state, federal, corporate and HR audits.
  • Assist with work-related injury investigations and disciplinary proceedings. Participate in state, federal, corporate and HR worker’s comp/safety audits. Coordinate Showpay staff safety trainings and audits.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year payroll processing required; working knowledge of ADP systems a plus
  • 1 year recruitment, hiring and labor scheduling experience required.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, skills of office programs i.e., Excel, Outlook, Word; good knowledge of office procedures and practices in a busy work environment
  • Must be very organized, efficient and possess an ability to prioritize projects and assignments.
  • With appropriate notice available to work on weekends.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers from all levels of the organization in a variety of situations
  • Ability to provide polite customer service
  • Maintain a calm demeanor in a fast paced environment
  • Spanish language a plus
